GALLERI: Superior-TV @ Vallåkraträffen 2011 släpps inom kort!

3 mars 2012, 12:28

SUMMARY 2011: The chronicles of Martin P – ”Bilbilder.se” (Part 2 of 2)

30 januari 2012, 17:06

Time to get excited again!

Its one of the last parts of our extraordinary SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHERS SUMMARY 2011, with Martin BILBILDER.SE Perssons final part of his own favorite pics!

Wont won’t get much better material then this, and we encourage you to click your way around the supplied links to see the entire shoots etc.

Martin has a habit of making plenty of magical pics worth exploring a little extra. At the same time we feel its worth to check out these two categories in the Superior-Blog:

1. The SUPERIOR SELECTED part of the homepage, where you kind find all galleries from the season from all guys in the team!

2. SUMMARY 2011 PAGE (CLICK!) Another reminder great talents like David Johansson, Christoffer Talvis, Rani Giliana, Ronny Thomasson and Hjalmar Van Hoek have already gotten their summaries posted. Check it out!

5/8 Cimmys Mazda RX-7RX-7 Series-8:

A visit to Superior homegrounds and Micke. Thought I might do a session while I was in town and this tricked out RX-7 was a pleasant surprise.

(You can find the WHOLE GALLERY HERE!)

20/8 Ferrari Racing days, Ring Knutstorp:

The Superior Media Madness Motor Events Weekend (S.M.M.M.E.W, yes I just made it up). Three events in two days in two different parts of sweden. We made it!

We kicked the weekend off with Ferrari/Maserati Racing days at Ring Knutstorp. This 599 XX was probably the most insane engine sound this year, incredible and insanely loud! I think there will be a clip of this sooner on the Superior Blog…

(Read more and find the other galleries from this EVENT HERE!)

21/8 JDM Faceoff Mantorp Park+Sessions:

Second JDM Faceoff this year. The whole team was rather lazy this day after the early morning/long drive. It was a long and warm day but I managed to do 4 minisession apart from coverage from the track while we were there.

(Read full results of the Time Attack battle and a few other SELECTED GALLERIES HERE!)

28/8 Aston Martin DB9 Volante:

Another loaner. This time for driving my newly wed friends in the backseat. Quick snapshot before returning it to the owner. The DBS is a much better drive in my opinion, I don’t like the bodyroll of the cabriolet.

1/9 Ferrari 430 F1

Dejan Sokolovski was in town and we decided to try to do a little shoot. I made a phonecall and picked up this beutiful white 430.

15-17/9 Frankfurt IAA:

If you told me in the beginning of the year that I was going to be on Frankfurt IAA with Superior Media I probably wouldn’t believe it, but that was the case. Its a interesting journey to see where the photography takes me next. To me there was 3 cars that I could take home and put in my garage straight away and it was these three. The Lambo stand was quite memorable to, Viva Italia!

(Find e v e r y t h i n g from FRANKFURT IAA 2011 including videos, galleries and blogging HERE!)

October – Banzai 240Z:

The car I shot during the Stance Nation meet hit the stands as a cover on Banzai magazine. JDM build of the year if you ask me.

(This 240Z owned by Erik Jonasson was our SELECTED JDM-CAR OF THE YEAR, CLICK for the feature article from us!)

1/10 BMW 1M:

My friend got his new car after a long wait, we did a quick shoot of it before Frankfurt, but decided to give it a new go when fall came. I’m really happy with the outcome of this shot, I think its probably whats closest to wait I aim for in my pictures. It was also permiere for my new logo.

2/10 Range Rover Evoque:

My friend Fabian at the local Land Rover/Jaguar dealership gave me a call because he had this car home for the weekend. I was pumped with inspiration after the shoot of the 1M the day before and was really satisfied this time also.

22/10 Nissan Skyline DR30 RS Turbo:

Micke from Superior Imports did his tour in south of Sweden with his newest demo-car a olden goldie Skyline. It was a good day of shooting and a great night out. Unfortunately this is the only picture I can show you, for reasons I can’t tell you. Super secret!

13/11Range Rover Evoque:

An early morning with Fabian again. This time with a Evoque Coupe in my favorite color! We visited Malmö, basically because its a bigger town with nicer urban locations to contrast with the grey Evoque in the forest. After we were done we went by Lexus to check out the LFA passing by on a tour through Sweden.

Early autumn, Lexus LF-A Swedish exclusive:

(Full gallery and a write-up by guest-blogger SIR_PIERRE is RIGHT HERE *CLICK!*)

10/12 XKRS+XFR:

Me and Fabian planned one more session to make this year go out with a boom. I’ve never made a session so late in december before, because we usually have a lot of snow by then. Fabian didn’t think it was enough with a 550 hp blue bomb in december, so he suggested we’d take it on a trip to Copenhagen.

Since I’ve been thinking about this but not doing it the last few years it was another nobrainer.. And as if that wasn’t enough, we threw in a red XFR aswell. The rest of the result, well check it out here:

– – – – –

So that sums up my year of ” Lots of Supercars, Events and some JDM”. I don’t think I left anything out besides a few weekend joyrides (R8, ZR-1, 997TT) that I rather drove then shoot..

Really looking forward to let the camera rest for a couple of months to regain inspiration and then come back with full power during spring. Who knows what next year has to offer?!

INTRO: This is the best of ”Superior Selected” photographers 2011!

26 december 2011, 04:55

Time to let the cat out of the bag and end the year in style, as worthy of a season where we thrusted ourselves into an unknown world of serious media coverage- with only our own vision as a beacon of light to guide us… When I originally started contacting some of the best automotive photographers on the enthusiast scene here in Sweden; things were very unclear, even for myself. What exactly would SUPERIOR SELECTED be about, and why should anyone want to brand their pics ”more” for a company known only for importing cars canada online pharmacy from Japan- and only recently for their video productions (barely)?! Well, I cant tell you why these individuals I will now present did buy into it at that stage, but I hope canada pharmacy online their work over the passed season and words they are now going to share- will give us some answers. Each one of them will get a blogpost per day, and then OUR FACEBOOK will feature their pics exclusively that same day. All in all, Iam extremely grateful for all contributions made to the Superior-Blog over the season. There are many others in the wings who have helped out as well; but I will let the following persons annual summaries be the ”faces of SUPERIOR SELECTED” for the 2011 season. Then its on to see who will join them for 2012! —– David ”Mr. Superior Media Productions” Johansson: A very quiet guy who lets his editing do all the talking. Thanks to his dynamic work in making our cars for sale ads more attractive, and then branching out into making solid video productions of events attended- you could say he was one of the reasons we decided to dig even deeper at offering quality media. You’ve all seen his larger productions, and he will speak briefly about the ones from 2011 and also a few on those who are still in the ”coming soon” department. But I chose a clip we did at the ELMIA 2011 EXPO on a very special BMW, which had some different music and vibe to it as Davids official preview material:   Superior Media – BMW E30 ”DRIFT ME” Team Insane Racing @ Bilsport Performance & Custom Motor Show 2011 from Superior Media on Vimeo. —– Rani Giliana: Another timid guy who definately keeps an open mind and knows that a good idea is worth pursuing instead of finding every small problem possible at step 1. Was given a key role at the ELMIA EXPO and worked his ass off to do more then just a good first impression. Tagged along at several events, and again showed he is not scared to go ”all in” when the occasion comes; with a ”impromptu” trip with us to FRANKFURT IAA 2011 as a stellar example of that. His teaserpic is from GATEBIL MANTORP 2011: —– Ronny @ JAMedia: Someone mentioned someone, who knew someone; who was supposed to be a quite promising photographer with a huge heart for drifting. That someone turned out to be Ronny who really had a good ”vibe” around his pics from the ELMIA EXPO where he made his ”debut” for the SELECTED TEAM. I know this guys brain is seriously drift-damaged and most of his pics will have that theme, which is not strange for someone who has followed the progress of southern Swedish drifting intensely. But cialis how does it work his preview pic is of one of our SUPERIOR-TV anchormen Pierre Ingelsgård with another photographer in the team: Christoffer Talvis. Just feel his lifestyle photos are just as top notch as his action ones! —– Christoffer Talvis: And speaking about the guy in the above pic, I dont have much to say other then that you really know what you get in his photos. He relies less on Photoshop and lighting, and more on technique and sort of ”documentary style” photos- which makes for a perfect contrast to some of the other guys in the team. He cialis india is pharmacy canada also just like most of the team members very open to finding events outside of the regular calendar, and was for example as lone Swedish media at the opening of the Gumball Rally in London. My own pick for preview is just… watch it and you’ll understand. So much action going on here, action our cameras caught and will be in the upcoming Gatebil Mantorp is ”ALL IN” movie —– Hjalmar @ JalleGraphics: A real workhorse who does not care if he has viagra in the water to drive 500km to shoot some pics, or go a full day without eating to feel satisfied harvesting good pics at an event. Dont find this to be all good, but still a lot more to tell on his loyalty and dedication to automotive photography. This season I think he quickly outgrew his current camera, but has a looong list of events attended with plenty of cool pics. For the preview choice, we went with something more ”close-up” just to keep this post as varied as possible. But ”Jalle” can do it all, make no mistake about that! —– Martin ”Bilbilder.se” Persson: You may very well feel his name has been borderline inflated here in the blog, but thats because like a surgeon he seems to plan how to be efficent and get the most out of his skills & time. I believe his resume of the year will be the most in depth one, and I really look forward to it. Hard to believe he was one of the most sceptical photographers when we approached him in typical enthusiastic fashion in early over the counter viagra walgreens winter. Not too hard to blame him since he already has a firm fanbase taking pictures of supercars and getting magazine covers, so the entire team is glad to have him around- and we look forward to even more in 2012. —– Hope you will feel at least half as excited as myself over this closing of the year here in the blog. We admit its been a little more quiet here lately, but thats because we are already investing a lot of effort into the 2012 projects. Bit this will mean we end the year in typical Superior style with plenty of good reading in both Swedish and English (but the pictures speak the universal language, so hope you will share the material as much as you genuinely enjoy seeing it!). Rules are that we will release one member each evening, then share material exclusively shot by that person all day long at OUR FACEBOOK. Then when we have gone through all of them, its time for me to personally select 32 of my favourite pics from the season- and rank them for a final post to close the 2011 season!

Superior wishes you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

24 december 2011, 20:35

We have to take the occasion to give our blog-readers our most heart-warming and sincere wishes; that you will have an awesome and cozy christmas holiday!

We were blessed with a really nice official christmas card for this year, as Martin BILBILDER.SE Perssons snapshot of the Skyline DR30 we imported just before the season was over- got some ”photoshop-pimping” done by Norwegian wizz-kid Daniel Hovdahl (many thanks for the last minute help!)

(Click to get in full resolution!)

We might as well throw in last years card as well, which had an entirely different theme. A bit more aggression to it, pic taken by ”Chucky” and edit by ”Golicphoto”:

We can take the occasion to reveal that to end this year and start the next one, we will keep the blog busy by letting all regular SUPERIOR SELECTED photographers pic their favorite shots from the season.

Some have also taken the chance to express a little bit personal opinions on the year that passed, and Iam sure the Superior-blog will be in full form thanks to their contributions. I will make a closer statement on how this will go down tomorrow evening.

Hope everyone are really full of delicious christmas food at the moment, and that you are chilling with your favorite sort of tasty alcohol (might open myself something sweet too now that I think of it…)

Thanks for all the support so far, we are blessed to have so many loyal readers each day even though work on next years big upgrades is priority #1 at the moment!

INTERVJU: Vi träffar Erik Jonasson,”årets JDM-bygge” – Datsun 240Z S30!

27 november 2011, 20:27

Enjoy!

Interview: Erik Jonasson, owner of ”JDM car-buil of the year 2011” and his Datsun 240Z S30 from Superior Media on Vimeo.

SUPERIOR SELECTED: Erik Jonassons ”Clash of styles” Datsun 240Z!

25 november 2011, 05:09

Stance. Old School JDM. Hellaflush. Shakotan. Retro-trackday. And it goes on and on…

The hyping of car-trends has never been bigger, and it seems every year a derivate from stuff done in Japan for years; suddenly falls on the lips of the hungry mainstream-blogs who in turn feed young readers whats ”cool” now or not.

Who said this needs to be ”evil empire” bad?

Here is a story of a paradox gone full circle, how a heavily influenced ”beginner” got his hands on a real gem- and then accomplished what the Japanese for ages spent zero thought on doing- perfecting the understated cool!

Meet Erik Jonasson and his Datsun 240Z S30 which we will call ”JDM-build of the year” in Sweden ; just to set the bar right away on what your about to read.

Coupled with some really sexy pics which were previously exclusive to Banzai Magazine– we thank the photographer Martin ”BILBILDER.SE” (CLICK!) Persson for getting first scoop on their online arrival!

———-

Its a cold and uncertain morning in southern swedish city of Helsingborg. We are at WANGAN MEET III (READ MORE HERE) as main-sponsors and to contribute with everything we got to make this the years best Japcar-meet in our small but JDM-rich country.

After a long long winter we’ve gotten past the opening even of the year (ELMIA EXPO 2011) and people are for the first time treated to showing their cars in a good ol’ outside meet.

OUR OWN SUPERIOR MEDIA VIDEO:

We struggle at the beginning, trying to find an ounce of order in all the arriving cars and an inexperienced crew doing their best. After some initial calamity, its time to get to work.

_dsc7932The Superior-Blog is here to select its TEN OF THE BEST (SEE THE LIST HERE), and already we’ve had our first ”jaw-dropping moments” seeing some 100% Mazda/Eunos Miatas with full hellaflush stance.

Laughable for some, this was still something that had not quite reached us in Sweden despite a few brave souls who ”know their stance”, such as Marcus Eisenhut and his part famous part infamous (”haters gonna hate”) Honda Integra.

At the same time, all the general public currently knows about; and crave for old school JDM cars is still at kindergarten level. But things are about to change, as we stumble upon someone parked like any other car- but with the glaring charisma that singles it out instantly:

Go back to August 2010, around 10 months before Wangan Meet.

Erik Jonasson got this car in a scarce battle among many when the original owner since many years decided to sell his (1985-1992 build time!) epic project. Describing the process as a quite lucky circumstance of events, he got to see the car in person one day ahead of around 10 other speculating customers (among them someone from the US of A).

”I had scouted it for a while as it was available a few weeks, the owner had owned the car since 1985 and put a lot of effort into it- he was in no rush to sell. You could say he was looking for the perfect buyer. Plus he was working a lot in the aeromotive industry. Then one day he just called and told me I could come check it out; as 10 others were in line if I passed…” – Erik.

He had originally set out to find himself a newer BMW that never seemed to be available and in proper enough condition for him to buy. His daily driver for a while had also been a Z33 Nissan 350Z, and naturally he was well aware of what that modern Japanese muscle had in its heritage- the almighty Fairlady Z!

So when the opportunity came, and the car was not only in pristine condition- but loaded with plenty of aftermarket parts in both an extremely well built stroked 3.1l engine and chassis… there was no stopping him.

”The previous owner had kept an insane amount of receipts, workshop manuals and even some old Nismo-catalogues. I knew right away this was perfect for me as I had no need for a lifetime project restoring some junk, it was an easy decision to pass up on the expensive end *insurance!* of owning the 350Z for this- but to put a summary on it… everything felt like I slipped into all this on a banana-peel!” -Erik

Back to Wangan Meet and what had been going on with the car between the purchase —> and where we are right now standing, interviewing a calm, humble and slightly shy Erik (video of this interview by Superior-TV is coming!).

Long story short: First thing he did was to clean things up, toss the rear bumper and drop the car so it had the proper ”stance” which in Sweden was about to explode.

He then added the older style front fender mirrors and imposed his ambitions to possibly making it a track day racer, with a much more modern kind of carbon diffuser/splitter in the front.

We had certainly noticed the car, but are still shocked. This kind of build caught even some very diehard and experienced JDM-enthusiasts as ourselves totally of guard? I mean, genuine workmanship, creative/fearless touches and even a proper engine on that?!

”I had no problem to put the sledgehammer in use to widen the rear body even more, and getting modified coil-overs from a VW Golf  was no problem either. I had already broken all sacred grounds by definition when I kept the Centerline USDM-wheels on, right?” -Erik.

Going by the theme of blogs he had put a lot of hours into reading after his buy, and becoming a huge fan of the ”Hellaflush/Stance-scene”; a whole lot of stickers found their way on the car as well.

Thats where it becomes interesting. How easy isn’t it to destroy something by adding too much? All the diverse opinions in taste apart, by just reading the text you might have gotten a messy image in your head.

But it was going to get a lot messier indeed, just as the meet itself (but thats a whole other story)…

Whats important is that we found ourselves helplessly in love with the car, and with stiff competition still made it our Superior choice and highest ranked on the TEN OF THE BEST list easily. In hindsight, there was no need to convince others that our opinions usually count (*throw me those black Hipster-glasses*).

Because Erik got the credit he well deserved without us fueling the fire. And in combination with another awesome build (Christoffer Geiros Audi A4) we had early picked as the winner of the all important Elmia Expo (*still having those glasses on*)… it instantly made Stance and Hellaflush the words on everyones lips!

”I was not expecting anything like the response afterwords. You could say I had done a severe crash-course in the whole ”JDM-automotive lifestyle” industry and gotten this car without being a maniac that actively pursued it. My only experience of Jap before was a Nissan 200SX which first blew its turbine; and then the engine. After that I promised to never buy anything other then naturally aspirated again!” -Erik.

_mg_7638A touch of the ”Old school JDM is cool y0” virus had sneaked into the picture as well, which we more then happily welcomed. Been warming the people up to the trends for a few years now, but nobody is quite ready to shell out the same money for a 30-40 year old Japanese car when you could get a really nice Mazda RX-7, Toyota Supra or even a pretty new Skyline GT-R for roughly the same money.

But we are deeming Eriks 240Z as the possible ice breaker for this too (Insert free marketing plug: W E can get you any proper JDM-car directly out of Japan, just CONTACT US and we’ll give you the straight answers you need.)

For the sake of this article, we could have stopped there- but give us a few more minutes of your quality reading time yet still. Because Erik was not done yet, and here is where it gets really interesting…

Like we’ve already stated, following trends is not hard; but its way easier to go too far and just be ignored & almost spat at for ruining in this case a classic. I was worried when Eriks next move to place an oil-cooler on the exterior of the car. *BAM* Right on the front-bumper, and like a big black spot on that dashing red ladies beautiful silhouette.

”What the hell are you thinking” was my first blunt judgement of the idea, and you could smell some tension; albeit as smelly as it gets from a couple of polite online comments exchanged…

I was worried this car might go the path of some of the laughable projects often seen in the US, or maybe even as far as that we could have put another ”trendy” JDM-enthusiast word into play in Bosozoku = mad almost ”clowned” cars with extreme spoilers and screeching paint themes?!

”I like doing things which Iam kind of alone with. It bugs me when young car enthusiasts today find a car they like, and start ordering parts based on it. I can’t deny it also gives a sort of satisfaction to get split opinions, even if I have the utmost respect for everyone and cherish their input. In the end I follow my own path, and thats how it went with the exterior oil-cooler as well; as a tribute to the old school racecars of that era…” -Erik

But I should have stayed calm. Like ”Dalarna-region of Sweden” calm where Erik usually resides. The part of the country the rest of us usually think of taking a long skiing sessions through the forest.

Where a friday evening might be best spent at the local pizza place grabbing a few beers, possibly going nuts and gathering in an apartment to share some hard distilled liquor with your closest buddies. Simply put a very down to earth place, with plenty of people with personalities to mirror that…

Because indeed, today with the season passed and with this sweet car getting published in not only those trendy blogs; but in highly esteemed JDM-auto magazine Banzai thanks to photographer Supremo and SUPERIOR SELECTED lynchpin Martin ”Bilbilder.se” Persson (SEE HIS FB-PAGE HERE)- the car not only had the balls, muscle and brains to be our JDM build of the year…

It also now had the merits more then worthy of it.

***MARTINS PHOTO-COMMENTS: Shooting this car was a bit of a practical nightmare. We met during a large meet for Stanced cars that was organized in a beautiful natural reservation. The problem was that it was high season, and after a few failed attempts to do shots like the above due to passers by- we moved over to Koeningseggs airstrip. After meeting and greeting a few Agera R’s, we got a few good snaps before the rain came down. Not the best of days, and there is a lot more potential, as this car is breaking some serious necks; just cruising past people low n’ slow…” ***

So thats it, for 2012 we know Erik has made a pledge to the JDM-gods to venture even further on the path of being truly old school in the strict far eastern sense of it. We know he has a nothing less described then s i c k set of old 15″ Speed Star wheels which he intends to spend a fortune on making like new; and ready to ”just stance” with another twist to it!

”2012… Well, all I can say is that I will clean things up even more. The stickers will go away and the treasures I got directly from Japan that will carry the car will define the whole build itself. And of course, I expect it to be even lower- perfect fit to finally make use of those trackdays ambitions I originally had buying it…” -Erik.

VIDEO & VOTE: Pick the winner of Superior Burnout Competition 2011!

1 november 2011, 21:23

Its time to release the fun little gig we did during Superior Meet 2011 where three gentlemen put on a show to kiss this years summer away; swedish style = sick burnouts!

In honour of this sacred ritual performed to perfection, we decided to make it a fun little competition; asking all our readers, their friends and whoever appreciates proper burnouts to cast their vote on who they think did it best!

What you need to do:

1. Watch the clip below, its OK to watch it more then once. Even more then 20 times.

2. Pick out who you felt did the best one and its nobodys business how you define ”best”. Just pick any one of the three guys = #1 Micke_J, #2 1JZ-Tompa and #3 Gunnarsson.

3. You can cast your vote by VISITING OUR FACEBOOK and there ”Like” + comments your favourite and why. Or you can just comment below here in the blog. If you share this clip make sure to ask anyone who likes to participate in the vote to do the same.

Prices for voting? Hell yeah:

We decided to mostly in the spirit of raffling (??) things, to put in a Superior T-shirt and a bunch of other surprise items to be announced soon to give away to anyone who votes. Pretty easy huh? We promise to count up all votes from as many sources possible, but  OUR FACEBOOK or commenting below is the easiest place to to do it!

VIMEO:

Hope you liked it, now you have three clear choices to cater to; and we hope that the final winner will be a worthy one with many votes to back it up. I can sincerely say that I feel all three definately plead their case as the burnout champion very well; so it will be a case of style, sound, car type etc etc that will determine the winner!

(Thanks to David Johansson for shooting and editing this video, despite tough times to deal with. You and your closest ones have the full backing of the Superior-family in your time of grief…)

Hope we will get lots of help in letting this little event get spread in the winds of your social networks. We need a big boost just in time for the release of our next monster project…

…the Gatebil Mantorp ”All in” movie. Stay tuned and thanks in advance!

Roadtrip: 1000km of old school JDM Nissan DR30 Skyline (Part 1 of 2)!

25 oktober 2011, 17:44

Getting back to the english vibes here in the Superior-Blog, I would like to share with you my 50% envious 50% painful (for the body) road tip with the newly Swedish registered Nissan Skyline DR30 RS-Turbo done over the past weekend!

This trip came as a blessing from the sky as the old JDM war-machine passed through the mechanical tests with ease, and all those preparations on the tough paperwork made it equally smooth to get it authorized for the Swedish roads legally.

Seeing how summer had long ended, and that we are in typical Swedish fashion really cursed with unpredictable weather- I decided it was my last chance to do something as a car-enthusiast before a long spell where I would lock myself in my office to prepare for 2012.

The hit-list was easy to make up, I had to visit SIR_PIERRE and one of my recently added favorite cities Malmö– thus starting the trip from bottom and up. Then the journey would go upwards, passing Helsingborg and do a grande finale in quality (how do you like the picture below??) kind of photoshoot with Martin BILBILDER.SE Persson, also adding some nice social interaction to finally meet his lady Caroline that he is engaged with.

Then we would do a quick sprint past a quite impressive garage a few customers have filled with JDM-cars to then finish the trip in Växjö at Superior Workshop Syd (where the Skyline will do its winter sleep and get plenty of love).

Friday:

I love going away, who doesn’t? But no matter how well you prepare it always seem to be something getting in the way. This time though it was just a matter of patience, as the ugly unpredictability of Swedish climate had made everything frozen and slippery outside early morning. But starting the journey 1.5 hours later made everything fine even for a car running on some very old Bridgestone summer tries.

The demons of doubt in how a 30 year old car we so far have spent no more then 20km behind the wheel of would do on a road trip this long made the first 100km quite tense and nervous. ”Would the main engine-bearings suddenly die” and desperate thoughts like that plagued my mind, and I think I spent 75% looking at the different meters that show temperature/pressure and only 20% on the road.

img_0876

But after that and a first pit stop which with some additional tuning to the tires air-pressure (we make it sound advanced!) and checking the oil etc… Things finally loosened up a bit. I knew that if it would last this far, not doing anything stupid would probably make it last the entire trip.

img_0881Oh yeah, the rest of my attention if you got the math above to just 95% was to setup a good playlist on the phone to endure the monotonic sound a 4 cylinder FJ20ET engine makes; coupled with a fully stripped from sound-deadening material chassis.

Its not pretty for the ears, so Deadmau5 beats surely helped to endure it. Also had to give in to some odd craving of eating a ”Angry Whopper” and at occasions really felt as a thing were going on in true Charlie Sheen ”winning” style!

Not going to get into detail on how the 600km passed by, it was just… free of trouble and liberating. The only fail was that we couldn’t get the schedule to work with meeting up with our #1 carbon and racing products (MajoR Aero) guy Mr. MA.

(I later found out as the Skyline was riding with others, that the speedometer showed 20km/h less then it should. Go figure that it took ages despite thinking we were running hardcore!)

Finally arriving in Malmö and at the ever so generous in hospitality SIR_PIERRE (you should read his blog if you are a bro’ and love women, cars, gadgets, luxury etc) we took our time to chill down a bit and met another cool dude in the mythically hyped Patrik.

He really knew his shit on many subjects- plus that he was riding a really sick trike which caught my eye too. Has anyone seen this kind of… bicycle (?!) before?!

Anyway, he advised us to a nice Italian place which in combination with the drinks afterwards really gave us a good nights sleep. Really want to thank Pierre for this, he is a real gentleman who despite his flashy habits (try and make out what that sucker is wearing on his arm…) is extremely down to earth and a hell of a genuine guy.

Too bad he hides it way too often and loves to mess around with the typical ”mellow milk” kind of people we have here in Sweden. My #1 advice when it comes to this man is… take it with a grain of salt and just love him! 😉

All in all, a great success as some funny character might have said about this entire day! And I was almost embarrassed about how few problems this old whip gave me, even the milage seemed fantastic going just over 1 litre on 10km. Someone up there must really like these old Skylines…

…and thats where we stop and announce that next is where Martin BILBILDER.SE Persson comes into the picture; and you will know more about how the header pic in this post came about.

Still hoping you enjoy some blogging about social life that comes with the lifestyle here at the Superior-Blog… 🙂

ANMÄLAN: Superior Meet 2011 i Katrineholm, Lördag 8 Okt!

3 oktober 2011, 10:09

1. UPPDATERAT: Dag spikad, blir den 8 Oktober i Katrineholm.

2. Kommer med bil eller utan?

3. Intresserad av sovplats och stanna natten?

VIDEO: ”This is Gatebil Mantorp 2011” – Our most epic movie yet…

31 augusti 2011, 19:06

Enough with the talk, its time to show what we have been up to ever since Gatebil Mantorp 2011 ended and we got home with hours of insane action from this unique event!

We’ve been hyping it for a long time, but hope we a least will please everyone who knows about such Gatebil-profiles as Driftmonkey, The Alm Bros, TS-Motor, KRB Trading and Swedes like Team Raidopower Motorsport, Limmet ProInt Drift & so on…!

We hope you will take our advice and watch this killer-movie with the best possible display and sound you can muster. We worked extremely hard on those details and feel its injustice to watch this  on a PC-screen or smaller (unless you need to view it while on the fly). 😉

So sit back, open up a bottle of your favourite beer and enjoy the show (this movie is/was released on a saturday) to the fullest. Wheter you liked it or not, please leave your review in the comments below. Here we go!

Feel free to ”like” our Facebook (Superior Imports AB) and continue to follow our blog where there is always plenty of action coming even if you don’t speak Swedish…

…cheers to the heroes that made this movie possible, from the drivers to the organizers that gave us the green light to use our tools to the fullest. Thank you!

RESUMÉ / EFTERSNACK: JDM Face-Off 2011 & Trackday @ Mantorp Park!

23 augusti 2011, 21:39

Trea: Rickard Cornachini Porsche RSR … 1.25,6

Fyra: Perra 23GTR Nissan GT-R … 1.26,1

GALLERY: 24h until release of our huge ”This is Gatebil Mantorp” movie!

19 augusti 2011, 19:05

Finally, after two months of hard work and meticulous selection/editing; our huge production from the GATEBIL MANTORP 2011 event is 100% ready for release!

We really gave everything we got this time, from the first day we found out MANTORP PARK was going to grant us free hands to shoot this- to this day editing little details until the very end.

We really hope despite if you feel its a blockbuster or just average, that you will find the 15 minutes needed to watch this (counting extra time needed to set ya’ll up, dont waste this not blasting this on your best HiFi/Picture combo available!).

So, without boring you and just getting to the point since we are still 24 hours away from giving away the goods- what can you expect from this production? Well, simply put everything that GATEBIL EVENTS stands for = extreme cars, fast paced action, eupherical atmosphere and general carnage!

All of you who have been to just one event will recognise all the ingredients, and we really hope you will approve of that we really catched the spirit of the event- or at least scratched the surface of it. We knew it was impossible as you have to see it to believe it…

For those who are new to this, you’ll notice this is not quite like your ordinary ”car-thing”; some that have previewed the movie are perplexed on some of the material we included. But I guess we’ll leave you open to say for yourselves what you think…

We really appreciate your continuous support and hope you will help us to spread our hard work. But only if you really liked it of course. 🙂

Saturday 20th August 20.00 Swedish time is what to set your clock at, the perfect time to accelerate your best evening of the week…

All the people behind this production (especially workhorse David Johansson @ SUPERIOR MEDIA); we’ll make it a perfect moment for opening up a beer- hope you do the same! 😀

SUPERIOR SELECTED: Phantom Supra vs Superior BNR34 Skyline!

19 augusti 2011, 08:28

Phantom Supra vs Superior Skyline:

Bästa tid Mantorp: 1.23,7 vs 1.24,9 (Alx Danielsson förare).

Bästa tid Kinnekulle: 58,7 vs 59,6.

Bästa Superstage: 1.22,3 vs 1.21,3 (Samuel L. förare).

1/4 mile prestanda: ~11.30 sek vs ~11.50 sek (bästa körda tider = ej optimala förutsättningar).

Körvikt: ~1550kg vs ~1700kg.

Effekt ”Attack mode”: ~800HK vs ~650HK

SUPERIOR MEDIA: Bilsport Action Meet 2011 (Drag – Drift – Show)

15 augusti 2011, 05:09

So you want to know what the Swedish tuning-scene is like? Do we have what it takes building speed, driving it- or just making things look good?

Would it be a bold statement to say we might considering size-wise we even do it quite well? Look no further for proof of this then what BILSPORT ACTION MEET has to offer = the largest auto-activity based event in the country. As always based on the home of Swedish motorsport, MANTORP PARK!

We are pleased to show you how we captured the event one sunny saturday a week or so ago. This meet has always been heavily centered around the 402m dragracing which is very popular among streetcars to compete eachother in, but this year drifting entered the scene with a bang; and in our opinion stole the show!

Finaly we capped it off with the essential views on what the Show and shine had to offer as well, as the field was quite dense in the Top 10 and there were some nice (and less nice) cars on location. I wish the song used in the final part would translate well to English, but we couldn’t help to throw in some carefree humour into the mix as well there… Enjoy!

We really hope you like it, and will lend us a hand to spread the work we do- and naturally the Swedish tuning-scene itself. Pleasing news to say the least are, that this was a week-long (intense!) project for us- but very soon we will release our blockbuster production from GATEBIL MANTORP 2011!

(We give a ”money-back” guarantee you will enjoy the Gatebil movie which includes all madness from guys like Team Driftmonkey, DTS Systems Supra, Team Yellow, The Alm Bros, Team Raidopower Motorsport and lots and lots more truly mad stuff!)

*DISCLAIMER: Movie is for free anyway… but we still think you´ll love it!* 😉

There is plenty to see in our VIMEO-CHANNEL when it comes to movies, and if you are in the mood for the best pictures from the different meets & events around the country- all you need is this SUPERIOR SELECTED LINK where there is plenty to feast your eyes upon!

Make sure to add us on FACEBOOK (CLICK!) so you wont miss any of the action. We promise plenty of media that speak the infinite language that is the love we have for the whole scene!

Thanks in advance for leaving your sincere opinions in the comments below. We have thick skin and enjoy your good and bad pointers on the production…

GATEBIL GALLERI: Klippa stämningsfullt outro = lättare sagt än gjort!

4 augusti 2011, 20:19

Gatebil Sweden 2010 at Mantorp Park – Superior Syd/Media from Superior Media on Vimeo.

Minsta vi förtjänar win or loose!

GALLERI: Gatebil Mantorp 2011 filmen börjar ta form (70% klar)!

24 juli 2011, 20:48

JDM Face-Off Time Attack 2010 @ Mantorp Park from Superior Media on Vimeo.

Feedback! Tack på förhand…
