The very present and a highly likely a view of the future in Japanese automotive; is on display right now at the big Tokyo Motor Show- we got all good news from it!

Thanks to our efforts on the similar but more international FRANKFURT IAA EXPO, we are now officially and most flattering enough; part of a press network where we can take part of some official photos from all Motor shows from around the world. So we would like to share for our readers whats brewing on the JDM market!

Right away I can tell you that as a single year its been a really good one if you are an ”enthusiast”, who loungues for performance cars and such.

But as a whole, we have to face the truth that harsh economics and most importantly enviromental changes in the world means = less of that and more compact or fuel efficent cars (most often both!).

But we still picked up our favourite 20 and most relevant pics from this awesome network, and hope you will enjoy this mix although none of our staff was there, and fair enough we havent really studied up on all of them. Lets take a look anyway!

(As stated, compact cars is the firm reality of what all carmakers put as a priority. And face it, we need those type of cars too! Whats comforting about that is that the Japanese brands are in my opinion the leaders of this segment. This Honda was something I could very well imagine to use as a ”city car” in the future. Clean!)

(But lets raise the temperature a little now shall we? The Lexus LFA was here in its more raw ”Nürburgring edition” which gives the pretty lady (read our feature of when it was in Sweden HERE) some extra long claws. Changes are still subtle, but very important- in not just aero but in performance and well. Will it be a record breaker in 2012?)

(Name one (two actually) model that have gotten more press coverage then the Toyota FT86 and Subaru BRZ? I doubt anyone will come up with one… so lets just skip the chit-chat and say ”Yay” or ”Nay” for the finished product…?)

(… and if you did not like the above one, Subaru were kind enough to develop their Super GT version for you which is impossible to dislike. Like all the JDM racers just an institution in pure rawness. ”Proud of Boxer” indeed, and I think this car will replace the Legacy which it turns out was a short-lived competitor for Subaru.)

(One of my personal favourites, albeit a pretty useless ”car”. For the truly artistic person willing to barely use his car so it wont get dirty, we found this Toyota concept which has a unique glass structure with a screen (?) in it. Just check the picture in the gallery and compare. Impressive stuff!)

(Something you might have read about that was going to be premiered here, was the Nissan Juke Nismo concept. It might look like any ”performance upgraded” base model, but the key here is the engine and drivetrain. Oh yes, it is the full monty from the Nissan GT-R! Good news is that right now they are considering it for a official release depending on what people on the expo said. Lets keep our fingers crossed!)

(And to finish things of, we have the latest Impreza (although that name is scrapped on this generation) that earns a S-series package. Shortly explained, ever since the GC8 generation; Subaru always saved the ”best for last” and in the JDM-market released a fully loaded with STi-options model of the Impreza to buy from the factory. This one is a worthy follower of that bloodline, and I hope one day to have the pleasure of providing someone in Sweden with one since they will probably be available in the Japanese Domestic Market only (there, I just explained what JDM is shortering for). 😉

Hope you enjoyed it, seems like among the myriad of small compacts and odd ”hybrid/electrical” sort of cars & concepts- there is a thin red line of hope in sportscars as well. We all know Honda is looking to release a new NSX, and Mazda have been toying with us creating monster concepts like the Furai. So lets hope this trend continues…

Feels great that our hard work which puzzled some and might have seemed out of place in the blog has given us some really positive results.

Våran gästbloggare SIR_PIERRE har gjort de vi alla drömmer om- träffat sin livs kärlek i motorformat; supersportbilen Lexus LFA! Ett unikt tillfälle då Sverige tråkigt nog icke fick någon av de 500 ex. bilen är byggd i; presenterades när ”demobilen” som gått världen över skulle på en kort turné genom landet. Självklart var vi på plats! — För någon vecka sen så hade vi faktiskt en LFA på besök iallafall här i Sverige. Bilen var på turne i Sverige, Och har nog varit det världen över. Redan när jag fick reda på att bilen skulle komma till Sverige så gjorde jag mitt yttersta för att vi realviagraforsale-rxonline.com skulle få en riktig SuperiorMedia feature. Bilder, Filmer, En provkörning (please god). 😉 Men ne givetvis var det lite väl att hoppas på. Bilder blev det iallafall, Och detta uppdraget gav jag personligen till Martin@Bilbilder.se eftersom jag vet att han älskar den bilen nästan (bara nästan) lika mycket som jag själv gör. Voilá, var hans kamera och denna undersköna skapelse en ”match made in heaven” eller vad…? Martin fick sin en dejt med bilen separat på tu man hand i lugn och ro, Medans jag fick träffa denna vita skönhet på Lexus kundvisning utav bilen. Som alltid är det en helt annan ”ball game” att med sina egna ögon se det som man tvångsmatat hjärnan med i månader (år?). Ur ena synpunkten så är det en helt otrolig, detaljrik bil som man skulle kunna tro är ett koncept bara- som aldrig kommer bli verklighet. Men viagra maximum dose ur andra synpunkten så ser bilen nästan lite för snäll ut.. På ett typiskt Lexus vis.. Kanske.. Diskret för den som inte vet (?) bättre.. Jag talar om de som hellre (fåfängt) kollar åt tyskar eller italienare och deras absolut värsta modeller (tänk Enzo, Murcielago, MB Black Series): Men för den som förstår och kan se skönheten inunder så ser man hur vältänkt bilen är.. Vilket samspel det är på precis varenda detalj på bilen. Ett talande exempel, låt mig försöka förklara… Den okunniga kanske ser två onödigt klumpiga och fula backspeglar (till höger). Den som förstår sej på Lexus ser hur dessa är hair transplant and viagra formade; listar ut att det är för att locka luft ända från fronten –> längs huven –> förbi backspeglarna och A-stolpen; för att sen sugas ner i dom bakre ventilationerna och kyla motorn. Men det är ”på kontoret”, inne i coupén; där Japanska ingenjörer spenderat tusentals timmar av tänkande- som även den okunnige åskådaren förstår att det rör sej om en Lexus.. För en Lexus är det… Ända ut i sömmarna.. Bokstavligen. Se bara den unika inredning som i absolut mest skrutinösa detalj andas perfektion: Folk kan få klaga hur mycket dom vill numera, att uppskatta den absoluta knivudden av premium när det gäller allt från konst, mat, HiFi och dylikt är… inte så lätt som man kan tro. Speciellt i en så machismo värld som supersportbilen är van att husera i. Förr så hade jag kanske också svårt att förstå LFA lite.. Hjärtat var helsäkert.. Men hjärnan.. ”Du får 5st R35 GT-R för samma pengar”, ”Corvette ZR-1 är snabbare på ringen” osv osv Så.. Ja… Lexus har aldrig klingat bra med ordet ”sportbil”.. Och när dom bygger sin allra första supersportbil så sätter dom en prislapp på cialis generic in usa 4.2 miljoner kr… Visst.. Det finns bilar som är MYCKET billigare och som har mer än dom 560HK som LFA bjuder på.. Men.. Det är inte alls alls det som det handlar om… Och det förstår jag ännu mer nu när jag har fått klämma och känna live.. Och då har jag alltså inte ens fått provköra bilen. Men se det som såhär.. Du kan säkert hitta dej en snygg tjej som alla i stan redan har varit med.. Som kan ge dej en riktig omgång (R35).. Hela porrpaketet.. Lokala glamourtjejen. Eller snäppet värre, en vild supermodell som vet vad hon sysslar med om ni förstår vad jag menar; fast med en djävulsk finess och som skulle få dina vänner att svimma av ren avundsjuka (tänk Ferrari/Lambo). Men sen så har du denna högutbildade, vårdade, inte uppmärksamhetskåta, god given body, naturliga skönhet. Som är ”an angel in the streets, but a devil in between the sheets”.. En tjej som inte faller för grupptryck, media.. Eller som skulle få för sej att jämföra sej med någon annan.. Kort och gott en natural born gudinna! (Nice ass!) 😉 Jag fick denna date hålla hennes hand och ge henne en puss på kinden… Och det skulle jag inte byta mot något av dom andra alternativen.. Så hur kan man ge detta en fin liten resumé? Jo. När Lexus tog fram LFA, Designade,Testade i flera år på ringen osv, Så frågades dom ifall dom hade med sej någon annan testbil för att jämföra… Så som när t.e.x Nissan alltid hade minst en 997 Turbo som följebil när dom testade fram GT-R. Då var svaret ifrån Lexus kort och enkelt. ”Nej, För vi vill inte få dåliga influenser ifrån andra” När dom tog fram LFA så gjorde dom det för sin egna skull.. Allt skulle vara precis så som dom kunde tänka sej i sina vildaste drömmar.. En riktigt snabb Lexus. Lyxig, Skön att köra, precis som alla andra Lexus… MEN…. Riktigt vild och snabb när tillfälle ges. Denna högvarviga V10 som väger mindre än en standard V6a och som låter som en F1 motor. Visst.. Den är onödigt dyr.. Från ett märke som ”bara bygger gubbabilar”… Onödigt komplicerad. Byggd på ett onödigt dyrt sätt med onödigt dyra delar.. Onödigt fint kolfiber.. När det går lika bra att göra på ”jänkevis”. Men ni som kan läsa mellan raderna.. Och som har lite koll på läget.. Kommer absolut förstå min slutgiltiga liknelse: 1991: Honda/Acura NSX! Ni u.s. pharmacy prices for cialis som vet ni vet.. Ni som inte förstår vad en NSX http://canadapharmacy-drugnorx.com/ är.. I dess djupaste meningen.. Er är det inte ens lönt att försöka förklara för.. Och detta är vår tids NSX.. Gånger 5. Enough said.

Vi träffade Erik tidigt på säsongen under WANGAN MEET III, och kunde redan där se att detta var ett bombnedlag på ”JDM-kartan” detta år.

Han tog hem första plats på TEN OF THE BEST på det eventet, och det känns roligt att mycket som nämns i VÅR FEATURE även diskuterades under denna intervju. Vi får ge SIR_PIERRE mannen som har huvudrollen i denna intervju och ger den ännu en dimension. Enjoy!

Stance. Old School JDM. Hellaflush. Shakotan. Retro-trackday. And it goes on and on…

The hyping of car-trends has never been bigger, and it seems every year a derivate from stuff done in Japan for years; suddenly falls on the lips of the hungry mainstream-blogs who in turn feed young readers whats ”cool” now or not.

Who said this needs to be ”evil empire” bad?

Here is a story of a paradox gone full circle, how a heavily influenced ”beginner” got his hands on a real gem- and then accomplished what the Japanese for ages spent zero thought on doing- perfecting the understated cool!

Meet Erik Jonasson and his Datsun 240Z S30 which we will call ”JDM-build of the year” in Sweden ; just to set the bar right away on what your about to read.

Its a cold and uncertain morning in southern swedish city of Helsingborg. We are at WANGAN MEET III (READ MORE HERE) as main-sponsors and to contribute with everything we got to make this the years best Japcar-meet in our small but JDM-rich country.

After a long long winter we’ve gotten past the opening even of the year (ELMIA EXPO 2011) and people are for the first time treated to showing their cars in a good ol’ outside meet.

OUR OWN SUPERIOR MEDIA VIDEO:

We struggle at the beginning, trying to find an ounce of order in all the arriving cars and an inexperienced crew doing their best. After some initial calamity, its time to get to work.

The Superior-Blog is here to select its TEN OF THE BEST (SEE THE LIST HERE), and already we’ve had our first ”jaw-dropping moments” seeing some 100% Mazda/Eunos Miatas with full hellaflush stance.

Laughable for some, this was still something that had not quite reached us in Sweden despite a few brave souls who ”know their stance”, such as Marcus Eisenhut and his part famous part infamous (”haters gonna hate”) Honda Integra.

At the same time, all the general public currently knows about; and crave for old school JDM cars is still at kindergarten level. But things are about to change, as we stumble upon someone parked like any other car- but with the glaring charisma that singles it out instantly:

Go back to August 2010, around 10 months before Wangan Meet.

Erik Jonasson got this car in a scarce battle among many when the original owner since many years decided to sell his (1985-1992 build time!) epic project. Describing the process as a quite lucky circumstance of events, he got to see the car in person one day ahead of around 10 other speculating customers (among them someone from the US of A).

”I had scouted it for a while as it was available a few weeks, the owner had owned the car since 1985 and put a lot of effort into it- he was in no rush to sell. You could say he was looking for the perfect buyer. Plus he was working a lot in the aeromotive industry. Then one day he just called and told me I could come check it out; as 10 others were in line if I passed…” – Erik.

He had originally set out to find himself a newer BMW that never seemed to be available and in proper enough condition for him to buy. His daily driver for a while had also been a Z33 Nissan 350Z, and naturally he was well aware of what that modern Japanese muscle had in its heritage- the almighty Fairlady Z!

So when the opportunity came, and the car was not only in pristine condition- but loaded with plenty of aftermarket parts in both an extremely well built stroked 3.1l engine and chassis… there was no stopping him.

”The previous owner had kept an insane amount of receipts, workshop manuals and even some old Nismo-catalogues. I knew right away this was perfect for me as I had no need for a lifetime project restoring some junk, it was an easy decision to pass up on the expensive end *insurance!* of owning the 350Z for this- but to put a summary on it… everything felt like I slipped into all this on a banana-peel!” -Erik

Back to Wangan Meet and what had been going on with the car between the purchase —> and where we are right now standing, interviewing a calm, humble and slightly shy Erik (video of this interview by Superior-TV is coming!).

Long story short: First thing he did was to clean things up, toss the rear bumper and drop the car so it had the proper ”stance” which in Sweden was about to explode.

He then added the older style front fender mirrors and imposed his ambitions to possibly making it a track day racer, with a much more modern kind of carbon diffuser/splitter in the front.

We had certainly noticed the car, but are still shocked. This kind of build caught even some very diehard and experienced JDM-enthusiasts as ourselves totally of guard? I mean, genuine workmanship, creative/fearless touches and even a proper engine on that?!

”I had no problem to put the sledgehammer in use to widen the rear body even more, and getting modified coil-overs from a VW Golf  was no problem either. I had already broken all sacred grounds by definition when I kept the Centerline USDM-wheels on, right?” -Erik.

Going by the theme of blogs he had put a lot of hours into reading after his buy, and becoming a huge fan of the ”Hellaflush/Stance-scene”; a whole lot of stickers found their way on the car as well.

Thats where it becomes interesting. How easy isn’t it to destroy something by adding too much? All the diverse opinions in taste apart, by just reading the text you might have gotten a messy image in your head.

But it was going to get a lot messier indeed, just as the meet itself (but thats a whole other story)…

Whats important is that we found ourselves helplessly in love with the car, and with stiff competition still made it our Superior choice and highest ranked on the TEN OF THE BEST list easily. In hindsight, there was no need to convince others that our opinions usually count (*throw me those black Hipster-glasses*).

Because Erik got the credit he well deserved without us fueling the fire. And in combination with another awesome build (Christoffer Geiros Audi A4) we had early picked as the winner of the all important Elmia Expo (*still having those glasses on*)… it instantly made Stance and Hellaflush the words on everyones lips!

”I was not expecting anything like the response afterwords. You could say I had done a severe crash-course in the whole ”JDM-automotive lifestyle” industry and gotten this car without being a maniac that actively pursued it. My only experience of Jap before was a Nissan 200SX which first blew its turbine; and then the engine. After that I promised to never buy anything other then naturally aspirated again!” -Erik.

A touch of the ”Old school JDM is cool y0” virus had sneaked into the picture as well, which we more then happily welcomed. Been warming the people up to the trends for a few years now, but nobody is quite ready to shell out the same money for a 30-40 year old Japanese car when you could get a really nice Mazda RX-7, Toyota Supra or even a pretty new Skyline GT-R for roughly the same money.

But we are deeming Eriks 240Z as the possible ice breaker for this too (Insert free marketing plug: W E can get you any proper JDM-car directly out of Japan, just CONTACT US and we’ll give you the straight answers you need.)

For the sake of this article, we could have stopped there- but give us a few more minutes of your quality reading time yet still. Because Erik was not done yet, and here is where it gets really interesting…

Like we’ve already stated, following trends is not hard; but its way easier to go too far and just be ignored & almost spat at for ruining in this case a classic. I was worried when Eriks next move to place an oil-cooler on the exterior of the car. *BAM* Right on the front-bumper, and like a big black spot on that dashing red ladies beautiful silhouette.

”What the hell are you thinking” was my first blunt judgement of the idea, and you could smell some tension; albeit as smelly as it gets from a couple of polite online comments exchanged…

I was worried this car might go the path of some of the laughable projects often seen in the US, or maybe even as far as that we could have put another ”trendy” JDM-enthusiast word into play in Bosozoku = mad almost ”clowned” cars with extreme spoilers and screeching paint themes?!

”I like doing things which Iam kind of alone with. It bugs me when young car enthusiasts today find a car they like, and start ordering parts based on it. I can’t deny it also gives a sort of satisfaction to get split opinions, even if I have the utmost respect for everyone and cherish their input. In the end I follow my own path, and thats how it went with the exterior oil-cooler as well; as a tribute to the old school racecars of that era…” -Erik

But I should have stayed calm. Like ”Dalarna-region of Sweden” calm where Erik usually resides. The part of the country the rest of us usually think of taking a long skiing sessions through the forest.

Where a friday evening might be best spent at the local pizza place grabbing a few beers, possibly going nuts and gathering in an apartment to share some hard distilled liquor with your closest buddies. Simply put a very down to earth place, with plenty of people with personalities to mirror that…

Because indeed, today with the season passed and with this sweet car getting published in not only those trendy blogs; but in highly esteemed JDM-auto magazine Banzai thanks to photographer Supremo and SUPERIOR SELECTED lynchpin Martin ”Bilbilder.se” Persson (SEE HIS FB-PAGE HERE)- the car not only had the balls, muscle and brains to be our JDM build of the year…

It also now had the merits more then worthy of it.

***MARTINS PHOTO-COMMENTS: Shooting this car was a bit of a practical nightmare. We met during a large meet for Stanced cars that was organized in a beautiful natural reservation. The problem was that it was high season, and after a few failed attempts to do shots like the above due to passers by- we moved over to Koeningseggs airstrip. After meeting and greeting a few Agera R’s, we got a few good snaps before the rain came down. Not the best of days, and there is a lot more potential, as this car is breaking some serious necks; just cruising past people low n’ slow…” ***

So thats it, for 2012 we know Erik has made a pledge to the JDM-gods to venture even further on the path of being truly old school in the strict far eastern sense of it. We know he has a nothing less described then s i c k set of old 15″ Speed Star wheels which he intends to spend a fortune on making like new; and ready to ”just stance” with another twist to it!

”2012… Well, all I can say is that I will clean things up even more. The stickers will go away and the treasures I got directly from Japan that will carry the car will define the whole build itself. And of course, I expect it to be even lower- perfect fit to finally make use of those trackdays ambitions I originally had buying it…” -Erik.

We got another SUPERIOR SELECTED feature for you here, and this time we mean to give you a little story on the pride we take upon ourselves each time someone hires us to FIND THEIR DREAMCAR IN JAPAN.

Its been everything from learning the ropes and buying cheap cars for myself, to helping others tap into the market- and finally the start of a long future legacy where our established name really means something.

Because you can’t go around calling yourself Superior Imports for nothing, right? True, and its been a long road with many sacrifices until we can honestly say that requests such as this car come around. Here comes a little story which is a testament of our quality control which I will tell with the aid of JALLEGRAPHICS pictures…

When Alexander contacted me, because he was in the market for a Series 8 (= 1999- year model FD3S RX-7). All he wanted was something that would separate from the crowd, but really valued that we also have a long history of tuning rotaries since early 2000’s; well before Superior Imports AB was conceived.

He had saved up a budget which we felt was good enough to get him a very nicely conditioned example, but he wouldn’t mind if it had some aftermarket parts either. Naturally, dipping into the market over there is dangerous if you are looking for quality.

I often say prices for a awesome car are much better then for the ”entry” kind of conditioned cars we at Superior still feel are worth importing. Why? Because there are so many of them, and everyone are looking for the cheapest possible!

Figure out the math yourselves, but we found ourselves out on thin ice very fast. Even venturing to have a go at a Veilside Fortune authentic Tokyo Auto Salon car which boggled our minds a bit, since it was a bit beat down and in shabby condition- but still eventually demanded around 40 000 Euro (!!!) to bring home.

And you thought Veilside was pretty hyped over there, son you don’t know just how extremely big they are there despite everyone hating down on them in the eastern world…

Moving on we got a little picky about it, and then found whats eventually this should I say… perfect RX-7. We did come across it once before, but it was sold way beyond our budget and we laughed off that you would need a fortune to buy it (which is true if you look at the market for a ”finished” car of this quality).

But then one day it was back on auction yet again, and I gave Alex a call knowing how much we had stretched his budget once. Why not talk him into trying it one more time just so we at least could bid over the minimum offer?

It was not hard to get the young man aboard the train, and we placed the bid… which led to another ”unsold” result. Oddly enough, our partners in Japan received a call from the broker handling the sale of the car at auctions (its complex), and did offer us a price which was well under the last sold price. It was still over our budget, even though Alex craved it more then anything.

Life had to go on, but a week or so later- it was up on auction yet again. Nothing new, cars can pop up weekly at some destinations and it doesn’t automatically mean they are sold cheaper.

Sometimes they are actually way more expensive since a bigger auction site did a little scalping on a small site; so they can make profit selling them in their market which has a lot more bidders.

But we went once again with what funds we had available, and we actually did an exception in letting Alex get some ”credit” just so we could up his bid. Normally this is a total no-no as you:

1. Want to keep customers orignal budget.

2. Its impossible to offer a good ”final price” of the import if we are to stake it in any monetary way.

Setting those principles aside to get something really unique, we went for it and… as you know reading this article and viewing the spectacular pictures taken by our already mentioned SUPERIOR SELECTED photographer Hjalmar van Hoek @ JALLEGRAPHICS (LIKE HIS FB!)… We got it!

The story has just started here, but after a few long months we have to fast-forward and just let the above pictures speak their distinct language. This is as good as it gets when looking in Japan. And I want to thank Alex for having confidence in that Superior is all about brokering your hard-earned cash on the best possible deal out there instead of giving ourselves a good pay-day and finding something ”just OK”.

Lot more to tell about this beauty, but since it arrived so late and only had time to attend our Superior Meet before it went for winters rest- I can safely say 2012 will bring a lot of material worthy reading with this RE-Amemiya wide body winning RX-7 in the middle of it.

Its time to release the fun little gig we did during Superior Meet 2011 where three gentlemen put on a show to kiss this years summer away; swedish style = sick burnouts!

In honour of this sacred ritual performed to perfection, we decided to make it a fun little competition; asking all our readers, their friends and whoever appreciates proper burnouts to cast their vote on who they think did it best!

Since we are in a bit of a bottle neck here with stuff colliding with eachother, we are going to have some material thats been waiting for a while coming ut- and first a gallery our SELECTED PHOTOGRAPHER Hjalmar @ JALLEGRAPHICS took during our own Superior Meet 2011!

Still very proud of that little gathering, and will enjoy all pics that came from it these coming months. This time we got a little more ”lifestyle” and less cars; but Iam sure the lads & ladies within the Superor-family will appreciate this extra much.

Great job på ”Jalle” who embarrasingly enough worked so hard during the day; that he didn’t even sample the awesome food we had made. Thats borderline stupid dedication! 😉

(Having dedicated most of my adult life to the Superior-brand, its a wonderful thing that once that was mostly entirely focused on very young customers has grown up and matured a lot. Some of the guys have more then one kid, and we even have a few customers old enough for grandchildren! But the beauty is that the dynamic spirit between all of us still is the same, hoping to ”mix it up” even more in 2012…)

(In what would to be the Aristo Vertex V300 final journey, it served well carrying all the stuff for the catering. Going to miss this ride, and you can take my word for that its not the last Aristo with 2JZ-GTE engine I will ever drive. This Toyota flagship model is just… sublime!)

(And speaking of Toyota/Lexus flagships, you could do a lot worse then this bunch. You have from the far right of the pic: Fredrik Anderssons & ”1JZ-Tompas” two very clean and true to JDM Soarers. Then the above Aristo and finally Pierre ”SIR_PIERRE” Ingelsgårds new Lexus LS400 running on brand new MRR 20″ wheels on that occasion.)

(There was a whole lot of photographing going on with several SELECTED guys on location. Here we have Rani RANISFOTO.SE Giliana *aka Flam* shooting Tony Svenssons Nissan Silvia S15 ”L-package”. I’ve seen some of the shots already, and cant wait to work this gallery out somewhere early next week!)

(Sweet pic of some RX-7 FD3S in which you can surely single out which one is the ”heavyweight champ of them all” since its a genuine Spirit-R! The red one is STILL FOR SALE while the other grey car with the GT-wing got sold recently; which is a bummer to all of you looking for a nice Series 8 FD3S…)

(We can’t see his face, but by now we all recognize David Johansson that films and edits all our awesome SUPERIOR MEDIA productions. He was there collecting material as well, but the line of movies coming out is superlong so we’ll just have to wait and see before we see the result. But follow below for more info on…)

(…how this carnage came about and sounded like! We got great quality video of all three tough b*stards who showed up to fight for the unofficial title of Burnout Champion 2011.)

(The gentleman to the right is Steffen Nilsen and don’t be fooled by the pic, he is equally into metal as his dark clad buddy to the left- but the authentic Superior Drivers Club hoodies will turn anyone into wearing white. Okay, maybe not; but you have to agree that they look damn sharp!)

(And we finish things off with some food! Seeing that home-made Teriyake roastbeef sallad again makes my stomach growl. I now have a clear vision of what will be requested for dinner next time I have the chance to decide. Hope everyone enjoyed the food we presented, nothing less then Superior in quality in that area as well…)

And that was it as they say. At least for the Meet itself and pictures from it. Really hope all of you who attented had a great time and hope you’ll support our efforts into making these social events more often in 2012. Since we can use the occasion to take some mighty fine pics to share in the blog, we have more then one reason to do it.

Getting back to the english vibes here in the Superior-Blog, I would like to share with you my 50% envious 50% painful (for the body) road tip with the newly Swedish registered Nissan Skyline DR30 RS-Turbo done over the past weekend!

This trip came as a blessing from the sky as the old JDM war-machine passed through the mechanical tests with ease, and all those preparations on the tough paperwork made it equally smooth to get it authorized for the Swedish roads legally.

Seeing how summer had long ended, and that we are in typical Swedish fashion really cursed with unpredictable weather- I decided it was my last chance to do something as a car-enthusiast before a long spell where I would lock myself in my office to prepare for 2012.

The hit-list was easy to make up, I had to visit SIR_PIERRE and one of my recently added favorite cities Malmö– thus starting the trip from bottom and up. Then the journey would go upwards, passing Helsingborg and do a grande finale in quality (how do you like the picture below??) kind of photoshoot with Martin BILBILDER.SE Persson, also adding some nice social interaction to finally meet his lady Caroline that he is engaged with.

Then we would do a quick sprint past a quite impressive garage a few customers have filled with JDM-cars to then finish the trip in Växjö at Superior Workshop Syd (where the Skyline will do its winter sleep and get plenty of love).

Friday:

I love going away, who doesn’t? But no matter how well you prepare it always seem to be something getting in the way. This time though it was just a matter of patience, as the ugly unpredictability of Swedish climate had made everything frozen and slippery outside early morning. But starting the journey 1.5 hours later made everything fine even for a car running on some very old Bridgestone summer tries.

The demons of doubt in how a 30 year old car we so far have spent no more then 20km behind the wheel of would do on a road trip this long made the first 100km quite tense and nervous. ”Would the main engine-bearings suddenly die” and desperate thoughts like that plagued my mind, and I think I spent 75% looking at the different meters that show temperature/pressure and only 20% on the road.

But after that and a first pit stop which with some additional tuning to the tires air-pressure (we make it sound advanced!) and checking the oil etc… Things finally loosened up a bit. I knew that if it would last this far, not doing anything stupid would probably make it last the entire trip.

Oh yeah, the rest of my attention if you got the math above to just 95% was to setup a good playlist on the phone to endure the monotonic sound a 4 cylinder FJ20ET engine makes; coupled with a fully stripped from sound-deadening material chassis.

Its not pretty for the ears, so Deadmau5 beats surely helped to endure it. Also had to give in to some odd craving of eating a ”Angry Whopper” and at occasions really felt as a thing were going on in true Charlie Sheen ”winning” style!

Not going to get into detail on how the 600km passed by, it was just… free of trouble and liberating. The only fail was that we couldn’t get the schedule to work with meeting up with our #1 carbon and racing products (MajoR Aero) guy Mr. MA.

(I later found out as the Skyline was riding with others, that the speedometer showed 20km/h less then it should. Go figure that it took ages despite thinking we were running hardcore!)

Finally arriving in Malmö and at the ever so generous in hospitality SIR_PIERRE (you should read his blog if you are a bro’ and love women, cars, gadgets, luxury etc) we took our time to chill down a bit and met another cool dude in the mythically hyped Patrik.

He really knew his shit on many subjects- plus that he was riding a really sick trike which caught my eye too. Has anyone seen this kind of… bicycle (?!) before?!

Anyway, he advised us to a nice Italian place which in combination with the drinks afterwards really gave us a good nights sleep. Really want to thank Pierre for this, he is a real gentleman who despite his flashy habits (try and make out what that sucker is wearing on his arm…) is extremely down to earth and a hell of a genuine guy.

Too bad he hides it way too often and loves to mess around with the typical ”mellow milk” kind of people we have here in Sweden. My #1 advice when it comes to this man is… take it with a grain of salt and just love him! 😉

All in all, a great success as some funny character might have said about this entire day! And I was almost embarrassed about how few problems this old whip gave me, even the milage seemed fantastic going just over 1 litre on 10km. Someone up there must really like these old Skylines…

Vi är inte färdiga med Superior Meet 2011 ännu, utan fotograferna har redigerat bilder i makligt tempo. En som däremot bara tog ett gäng bilder strikt ur entusiastsyfte är Peter Kaldjärv som kör en väldigt speciell Honda Civic FD2 som vi importerat DIREKT FRÅN JAPAN åt honom.

Gillade bilderna skarpt och tillägnar därför en del bloggande åt dom också, tycker det visade vilken fin bredd av olika bilar som vi hade på besök där 90% av dom är importer som vi gjort (*stolt  = ja!*).

Det är som jag var inne på tidigare idag ett redigt hallelujah för att träffar som dessa måste det bli mer av nästa säsong. Vi har en gemenskap som inte går att plagiera, och utan att vara pretentiös håller bilar mer än måttet för att visa upp för allmänheten och nyfikna. Så… mer träffar 2012 helt klart! 🙂

(Här har vi mannen bakom kamerans egna bil, som omnämnt en mycket udda 100% JDM Honda Civic FD2 med kombinationen 2000cc V-tec motor och automatlåda! Som loggan snyggt i grillen avslöjar är det ett komplett kjolpaket från Mugen som sitter på, samt att den sänkts med Mugen-chassie och vilar på klassiska Enkei RPF1 fälgar i 18″. Love it!)

(Då mannen som kör denna 500+HK RX-7 sitter precis bredvid mig, så måste det bli nästa bild att blogga om. Denna maskin har fått mycket tuning gjord av oss, och Henrik Gunnarsson som även är en av våra lojalaste mekaniker kan skryta om en fullt byggs 13B-REW wankelmaskin med skalperade lågkomps-rotorer och hela baletten; powered by Trust T78 singelturbo. Han är en j*kel på att bränna däck med, som ni säkert sett på VÅRAN FACEBOOK.)

(En annan bil som var duktig på att bränna däck var min egna 200MPH SOARER som fick luftas första gången denna säsong genom att ha ihjäl en uppsättning däck. Bilden döljer en rentutsagt horribel ”stance” rätt bra, men tror att med nytt chassie och lite labbande så kommer de 19″ Aston Martin V12 Vantage fälgar som sitter på komma till sin rätt…)

(En annan import vi är mycket stolta över, även om det krävdes en extrem entusiast i form av Håkan aka ”Skyracer” för att göra den; är denna Initial-D replica Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86. Vad tycker ni hardcore fans av den berömda serien, är det en 100% kopia eller saknas något?)

(Våran division av VIP-bilar är inte så stor, men SIR_PIERRE representerar den väl med sin pedantskötta Lexus LS400 som vilar på en uppsättning nyimporterade MRR 20″ fälgar. Vad tycker ni förutom att den uppenbarligen behöver sänkas?)

(Man skulle egentligen kunna kalla det en standard egenskap för de som är med i Superior-familjen, men frågan är om det finns lojalare och ihärdigare medlemmar i den än paret Dan Toresson och Anusha Christie som äger denna Subaru Forester STi -05. Denna import vi gjort åt dom har nog varit på flest träffar av alla, och går som en klocka vaaarje gång. Favoritbil = Tveklöst!).

(…och när vi är inne på lojala och målmedvetna människor som kör Subaru så kan David Johansson @ SUPERIOR MEDIA stolt känna sig välkommen i den gruppen. Hans Superior-importerade Subaru Impreza GC8 Type-R har också hunnit gå en del mil, och medverkat här och där. Kan ”råka” nämna att David la upp ett riktigt läckert galleri på VÅR FACEBOOK nyligen som är väl värt att kolla in om ni diggar bilen!)

(Här har ni en annan Mazda RX-7 som vi har TILL SALU åt en kund til oss. Inte så illa va? Ta en extra titt och kom med ett bud, det är nog den överlägset mest prisvärda vänsterstyrda FD3S vi någonsin haft nöjet att erbjuda till salu så… Think about it!)

(Vi måste ju även nämna en annan helgo kille vid namn Steffen Nilsen som äger denna ”mint condition” Subaru Legacy B4 RSK av årsmodell 2002. Han har bevisat mer än en gång att denna premium-modell från Subaru hör till de mest allround och mest balanserade sett till prestanda/komfort modellerna som finns överhuvudtaget i JDM-djungeln.)

(En härlig samling Subaru där vi bl.a. har med Bo Janzons Legacy B4 RSK, Martin Gustavssons Subaru Legacy Wagon och Per Anderssons Subaru Forester. Boxer hade nog en liten dominans på träffen ändå när man tänker efter, och inget fel med det!)

(Freddan Andersson från Katrineholm har tillsammans med Daniel Troberg hand om mycket av rekonderingen av bilarna. Detta är förstnämnde mannens egna bil, och putsen är inget att klaga på- eller hur?)

(Tony ”Tonkan” Svensson är ett bra exempel på en kille som vet att man kommer långt med lite tålamod. Hans import vi gjorde skötte vi helt och hållet ”på distans” = att han från dag 1 då han anlitade oss för ett IMPORT FRÅN JAPAN uppdrag tills den var reggad och transporterades hem till honom bara kunde sitta lugn i båten. Denna Nissan Silvia S15 är av den ovanliga ”L-package” modellen som är bland de sista tillverkade.)

(Ännu en fräck bil vi har TILL SALU och verkligen kan rekommendera i det prisvärda segmentet, en Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T som lovar mycket i potential för en bra busbil. I bakgrunden ser vi Jon Olsson och Henrik Gunnarsson skåda in i en RX-7 som ni säkerligen läst mycket om som tillhör Alex från Ö-vik. Hmm…)

(Att detta inlägg blir så sinnes långt beror på att man snabbt påminns om vilka kanonmänniskor som finns inom Superior-familjen. Denna Soarer med tydliga drag åt Hellaflush-hållet sålde vi till ”1JZ-Tompa” Wennerström som med sina grabbar varit en härlig klick energi på träffarna under sommaren. Det ni inte vet är att denna ”low and slow” bil inte är blyg för att användas- vilket hans deltagande i Burnout champion 2011 kommer visa. Film kommer, lovar.)

(En bil som tyvärr inte hann bli ”klar” för att dela i Burnout champion var denna superläckra Nissan Silvia S15 som vi importerat åt Adam Olsson från Hallstahammar. Med sin rentutsagt svinlånga lista på eftermarknadsdelar som finns på denna godisbil hade han säkert inte gjort bort sig, men det mycket speciella styrsystemet från Tomei Reytek ska mappas om till E85 innan leverans… så vi får helt enkelt vänta tills 2012 för att se mer av denna pärla!)

(Sista bilden i detta förträffliga galleri är på en Holy Graal av Mazda RX-7 = Spirit-R Type-A! Denna pärla har ägaren Gzon haft till salu ett tag, men smakar det så kostar det- men kan sätta samtliga fingrar på handen på spel över att denna är den mest ovanliga och mest välskötta RX-7 som någonsin satt sina däck i Sverige. Kika på SPECIFIKATIONEN HÄR och kom med ett bud så du tillhör den absoluta JDM-eliten redan idag!)

Oj oj, blev en del att skriva om… Men ändå räcker det inte för att visa vilken otroligt lyckad ”intern” träff vi hade denna underbara lördag. Jag hoppas ni tyckte det var en säsongsavslutning som hette duga, fast vi inte satte ett högre mål än att ha lite tid ”för oss själva” och bjuda på lite god mat! 🙂

We are officially underway with editing the ”Gatebil is ALL IN” here at the media part of Superior, and we hope you are as excited as we about this upcoming movie that we did tease a bit about in the very end of the last one.

We sure did give it all we got in that release earlier this summer from Gatebil Mantorp 2011, as we tried to show you how wild these events are- but in all honesty… we did save a lot of material from something… crazy!

Can you count the number of cars in this rough cut pic? Yes, and not just any cars either… but there was more; and they were all out on the track alone at the same time while we used all our plus borrowed equipment to do something insane with it!

We will write more and more about what went down there, and the direction the movie itself will take. But this small (crappy quality) gallery gives you an idea on which cars/teams made the final cut. Still have around 50% of all the GoPro material to go through and David who is editing all this is working hard just with the evaluation process selecting the best clips…

I promise you much better pics that will be arranged by David instead of my limited capabilities in encoding these (sounds way more advanced then it actually is).

Its good to let the cat out of the bag officially now that minus degrees weather is sweeping across Scandinavia and other countries, so lets work toghether in keeping ourselves warm with the violent graphic nature of tires getting killed over and over again! 😀

Who is your favourite of this handsome little bunch? Are you missing someone you know was at Gatebil Mantorp 2011? If you are, there probably was a good reason they did not participate. I have to in my deepest most humble and lower then the ground itself kind of bow- thank all of you who signed up for this and let us shoot this material. Mega-thanks…!!!

I’ll do another gallery that is strictly from the GoPro action cameras that were on the cars, making sure every accident (!), blown tire (!) and ”damn that was close” (!) moment was caught.

Remember, this video was shot on a closed track with the best of the best, but still having said that disclaimer- I hope you will get a huge kick out of it for your own winter-driving! 😉

One of the positive surprises of the expo was that Dacia brought a car which could compete for the ”highest HP” award. Athough far from its stock form, the ”Duster” which is a 850HP racecar to climb mountains like Pikes Peak, was a mean sight to behold.

If you liked the almost rude in eye-catching capabilities Cadillac concept, you will equally love what the German giant Mercedes brought with them to the expo. This Luxury concept oozes of science-fiction futuristic vibes and I doubt there is anyone that could match it in being 100% fabolous- not even Lady Gaga!

A car they called ”ahead two generations” has a lot of hype to live up to, and we were not too impressed although we found some positive things to say about the front end of it. But could have been something ”more” right?

The brand new BMW M5 with its twin-turbo V8 engine did not dissapoint at all, in a way its more aggresive then ever- but still keeping us confused on how good they are still making it look so ”understated”. Check out the mental malfunction of combining Swedish with English to say ” B M W ” as well. 😉

Lamborghini was as expected quite a ”top dog” with their presence at Frankfurt, not is size; but in sheer candy for the visual sense. Make sure not to miss their special ”Lamborghini gridgirls” which this clip did capture some goodness of as well..

A very anticipated car and of the ”german giants” biggest releases at the expo. A car that is firmly sold with ephasis on the ”gull-wing” doors has lost them, and some unique for Mercedes misses in 100% quality. Strange?

One of my favorite cars now that the expo has kind of sunk in. Made some valid points on how added carbon goodness and all the other aggresive details finally made the R8 the supercar Audi wants to promote it as. You also get to see some of he interior of the very impressive hall they had built from scratch!

TOYOTA FT-86 CONCEPT FINAL (?) VERSION!

For all us big JDM-fans out there, this car had the most relevance to it as its almost being seen as a ”messiah” to rejuvinate our part of the car-world. Seeing it in person, lots of Lexus LFA but some remarks on the wheels and rear spoiler.

Seeing this car has already gained plenty of attention abroad, we’ll do this feature in english. Its such a cross-over car eventhough lots of ”hot-rod” media has done coverage of it.

I can see so many different ”tuning syle” inspiring parts in it, and that combination in my opinion makes this Cobra unique and in the greatest possible way impossible to label in a specific ”auto-enthusiast category” of a build.

The owner Magnus Jinstrand also let us shoot some video of it at Mantorp Park which we hope to make a ”ride experience” movie with. Just that deep intimidating sound this Mercedes SL600 V12 engine with Lysholm Supercharger does will needless to say make that video worth watching.

Plenty of thumbs up for our main-man in the photography SUPERIOR SELECTED section recently Martin ”BILBILDER.SE” Persson (and yeah, click the link to discover his Facebook-page which he regularly updates with different shoots of exotic cars and much more!)

He has been a cornerstone in the late part of summer, and with *improved* effectivness learnt from just this seasons experience we have been able to offer quite a lot of features like this one. Really hope you enjoy them as much as I do writing them, but its really about the photos so lets get this gallery started! 🙂

(We start right away with the money-shot of this car, just trying to sort out whats unique is a total failure in itself; try to invert that by saying whats not handcrafted from scratch on this beast.  What was supposed to be a ”fun car for the wife at the track” according to another article; has from my perspective rejuvinated Magnus own adrenaline-gland = this car will see plenty of action on the track now that ”shakedown-season” is over and the car is running great having temp. and chassie issues almost sorted!)

(Back in the day the original AC Cobra was built they used whatever they could to make it a sleek aerodynamic car. Welcome to a new millenium and see how we add downforce these days, that front lip was a pain in the a*s to make- but Magnus came through and it does wonders on the downforce. You can clearly see the stone chips that have already harassed the car, but only thing Mr. Jinstrand had to say about that was ”its already retired from being a showcar” in extremely casual fashion.)

(One of the major things Caroll Shelby did with the AC Cobra before he made it ”his own” was to make sure it could run a V8 engine. Well, in this day and age of very potent engines available at scrap yards; Magnus pulled a both sensefull and exciting choice of putting a Mercedes SL600 engine in it. Good for around 600BHP in their stock naturally aspirated form, the addition of a Lysholm supercharger and plenty of ”made in Sweden” fabricated parts like those divine Intake manifolds… Its one of the most awesome engine setups ever witnessed!)

(Apart from its post-modern racing vibe upsetting the Cobra purists, the one thing which really creates bonfires of trolling comments in social media around the world is the gigantic GT-wing in the back which is derived from a racing Porsche 911. Pretty confident in its abilities to give downforce where its needed most, I highly doubt ”haters” opinions bother Magnus much…)

(This fantastic photo of light hitting its almost sexual curves really demostrate the Y in ”YUM!” when it comes to the one of a kind colour. I cant really put my finger on what to call it, but a valiant attempt would be some sort of champagne/brown pearl with matté clear coat. Dont have a clue actually! Spot the custom carbon rear under diffuser and acknowledge even more of that sublime Swedish craftsmanship.)

(One of the cleanest interiors I’ve ever seen, just amazingly to the point and would probably put a tear in old man Shelbys eyes if he saw it (pretty sure he has). First time I talked to Magnus when he debuted his car on Elmia 2010 expo he said it would probably be impossible to drive, but like I mentioned above its already proven to have performance to match its savage looks in its shakedown-season —> turned out it was surprisingly easy to drive afterall!)

I have to say this car has had my personal ”man/car crush” (hybrid version) ever since I first saw it and rightfully named it the best build of the year 2010. And how can you not love Mr. Jinstrands attitude of putting all that performance to use instead of using it as an eternal trailer queen; ready to destroy any opposition at forums around the world while sitting in the garage! 😉

And yes, the above comments were a 100% clear dig at all you big talkers about there with mileage on your cars equal to the total of times you’ve accomplished something beyond the safe confines of your keyboards or now very old past bravado.

With that being said, we truly feel Magnus custom Cobra is one of the worlds most awesome car builds right now- and we look forward to follow him even more in the coming season!

Martin ”BILBILDER.SE” Persson var aktiv som aldrig förr ett par helger sedan, och bortsett från att få fullmatad coverage på AUTOROPA FERRARI & MASERARI DAY så blev det även JDM FACE-OFF 2011 med ett par features inbakade i allt det.

Här kommer den första av tre kommande SUPERIOR SELECTED gallerier, ”1JZ-Tompas” tuffa Toyota Soarer med tydliga influenser mot (äkta) JDM och den ständigt växande Hellaflush-trenden. Kalla hans setup idag för vad ni vill om ni vill vara nördiga, men för mig är detta ett så tydligt exempel på ”stance-bygge” man kan göra på en begränsad budget; när det gäller en potent JDM-import iaf.

(Om det är ren tur eller att Soarern är ”natural born” för att köras med en riktig kaxig ”stance” vet jag inte. För om sanningen ska fram så har Tompa inte lagt hundratals timmar på att leta rätt hjulinställning, modifikationer av skärmkanter och labbande med ET. Det blev ”rätt direkt” bara med det Tein-chassie som satt på från Japan, och enbart lite research samt support från våran leverantör av Rota-fälgar så har vi detta fina resultat!)

(Kjolpaketet har ett rätt glassigt ursprung då det är Wald Japan som tillverkat det, ett kit som mest bygger på den facelift Soarer fick -96 men med rundare former. Utöver det är det knappt så det går hitta något annat på själva karossen utom ”rätt” stickers och smådetaljer som bogserings-kroken framtill samt givetvis de dubbla utblåsen bak. fälgarna och sänkningen gör jobbet åt bilen för att ge ett klockrent ”Hellaflush-stuk”!)

(Bilen är enormt vardagskörd och jag har åkt snålskjuts ett par gånger utan att tycka det är så otroligt illa som vissa ”stance-nördar” nästan gärna skryter om att det ska vara med en sådan bil? Visst skrapar fronten i ibland, men utöver det så åker man riktigt bra i bilen. T.o.m. tillsammans med Tompas två unga grabbar med! Men så är det ju en Soarer också, en av de bästa bilar som någonsin tillverkats rakt igenom- innan ni provat en själva så ber jag er att inte säga emot…)

(Ska man nämna framtidsplaner så är det ett omedelbart kopplings-byte efter att original sa ”nej tack” till att plågas på strippen med slicks och full boost-up. Jajamensan, den skäms inte för att brukar där heller. Mer ändå är mer ”finlir” som Tompa kallar det och att ”kööööra en j*kla massa”. Då Soarer delar så mycket med Toyota Supra JZA80 MKIV så finns det alltid otroligt mycket att göra/uppgradera. Precis som ovan stämplar jag detta som en av de ultimata modellerna från Japan att ha som entusiastbil sett till vilka möjligheter som finns!)

(The ”money-shot” som bara hade behövt lite mer förtydligande om den oerhört fräcka dekalen i vindrutan. 😉 Fronten har sina ”battle-scars” och likaså resten av karossen, men utstrålningen är det inget fel på alls- och den drar blickar till sig som få renodlade styling-byggen klarar. Allt detta för en prislapp som om ni kände till siffran känns oförskämt låg, har raljerat nog om Soarers storhet- men att den dessutom är enormt prisvärd t.o.m. med manuell låda som Thomas bil har är… galet bra.)

Ni vet alla vilken Soarer-extremist man själv är, även fast man nu halv-officiellt klivit upp till Aristo när det gäller bruksbil. Men det är riktigt kul att det inom Superior-familjen finns några som håller Soarer-flaggan riktigt högt. Hoppas denna modells popularitet sprider sig ytterligare, vet att ingen skulle bli gladare än Tompa och mig över det!

After a few weeks of uncertainty, its finally official that the Superior Blog will be on location at the 2011 IAA Cars Expo in Frankfurt, Germany during the closed pressdays September 13 – 14!

We are extremely honoured for this invite, and will do everything we can do report as much as possible; in our own unique and genuine way. Expect a fully charged Superior-blog team give it everything they got to make use of this golden opportunity to watch the car industry at its grandest stage!

This expo is the King of Kings when it comes to size, as it currently has about 900+ exhibitors and the number of visitors is not shy of 1,000,000 (!!!) for the entire even which lasts for a full ten days. With this being our first major international expo we’ll just step in there and do our best, if we can find the diamonds in the rough among the 200+ world premieres I think we’ll be fine… 😉

On location we will make it our priority to try through Mikael ”Micke_J” Jarosinski and Pierre ”Sir_Pierre” Ingelsgård eyes to share the experience of this insanely huge expo. We’ll have more then one camera following us doing everything from features, interviews and having some internal discussions.

We’ll stay strong to our roots as normal car enthusiasts (= auto geeks), and I promise you wont see anyone trying to be wittier then Jeremy Clarkson or some stiff robots talking about the cars. We’ll just be… ourselves. Lets just wait and see if thats a good or bad thing for the coverage is released!

Along with us we are bringing one of our ace photographers from the SUPERIOR SELECTED stable in Martin ”BILBILDER.SE” Persson (Check out his Facebook HERE). With his skills you can expect a lot of quality photographs of wide variety.

Being a microscopic David vs Goliath here, we’ll focus strictly on what we and our loyal readers like- and hope it will gain new audience as well. Keywords are casual and care-free, with a pinch of passion and almost childish enthusiasm for what we do!

We’ve been hyping it for a long time, but hope we a least will please everyone who knows about such Gatebil-profiles as Driftmonkey, The Alm Bros, TS-Motor, KRB Trading and Swedes like Team Raidopower Motorsport, Limmet ProInt Drift & so on…!

We hope you will take our advice and watch this killer-movie with the best possible display and sound you can muster. We worked extremely hard on those details and feel its injustice to watch this  on a PC-screen or smaller (unless you need to view it while on the fly). 😉

Dags för en ny ”feature” på ännu en i Superior Drivers Club som dessutom är mannen bakom videokameran och redigeringen av SUPERIOR MEDIA filmerna: David Johanssons Subaru Impreza STi Type-R!

Denna pärla fick jag i uppdrag att leta fram åt David efter mycket velande och fladdrande mellan både Nissan Silvia S15 och närmare ändå Nissan Skyline BCNR33 GT-R som vi flera gånger kom nära åt att vinna. Kravet var väldigt bra skick och vit i färgen. Guldfälgar var också en viktig preferens, vi hade vid det laget på kort tid skickat två fina bilar med den kombinationen till Växjö; kanske var något som påverkade?

Efter en massa budande och insikten om att en riktigt fin Impreza GC8 ”Type-R” = 2-dörrars coupé med lull-lull som ställbar diff och mycket styvare chassie; så fick vi tillslut en bil som hade rätt auktionsbetyg och miltal.

När den väl kom till Sverige var det snabba ryck, och en stor service gjordes samtidigt som en hel del grejer byttes och uppgraderades.

Bara inom några veckor efter att bilen blivit reggad så hade David bytt koppling, en massa slitdelar och nästintill fått ett komplett ”boost-up” paket på den. Mappning satte tyvärr stopp för denna säsong, men det gjordes istället till våren med nytt sprut (Link G4).

Bilen har fortsatt att utvecklas, och ett par varv runt bana mellan varven att vara stöttepelaren i produktionen av alla våra filmer har också hunnits med. Listan av uppgraderingar på en STi från Japan är ändlös, och den är under ständig utveckling.

Närmsta steget sägs bli en massa uppgraderingar för att få chassiet ännu styvare och mer anpassat på bana; tänk nya krängningshämmare, bussningar och diverse uppgraderade länk/kontrollarmar….

Men just nu efter den otroligt kloka och förmånliga investeringen i att via SUPERIOR SELECTED anlita Martin ”BILBILDER.SE” Persson för att ta dessa fagra bilder från Mantorp Park– så blir det att printa ut bilderna i olika format för att förgylla vardagen omkring sig.

Tänk själva att pryda ditt skrivbord med en ca 1m bred stor tavla av din käraste ägodel att titta på under en lång höst och kylig vinter? Är lite detta som är en av baktankarna bakom våran satsning, så om du ser någon bild i våra gallerier (spelar ingen roll från när) så kan vi ordna den i format som duger gott och väl för det. Martin hann under JDM FACE-OFF 2011 med att köra hela tre sessions till med bilar som kommer publiceras under September månad. En av dom är en väldigt otippad icke-Japs som dessutom fått sig en omgång med videokamerorna. Så det finns (som vanligt) mycket att se fram emot här i bloggen…

Utan att tveka dyker vi in på helgens fjärde och sista galleri, snacka om att vi blivit bortskämda i bloggen dessa två dagar. Vi har nästan hundratalet riktigt bra bilder om man räknar in det som kom under veckan, riktig lyx att vara simpel bloggare då…

Ingen dålig avslutning heller när nästa dubbla dussinet Ferrari & Maserati förgyller ett soligt Ring Knutstorp under AUTOROPAS banträff förra lördagen.

Martin BILBILDER Persson som utan att måla upp en dryg bild av människan; är rätt van vid att fota dessa exotiska maskiner gjorde ett grymt bra jobb här. Varning för hemmaplan nästan, och därför sparade vi dessa till sist. Säga vad man vill om prislappen för att köpa/äga dom, men läckrare ögongodis går för fasen inte hitta…

(Smickrar vi oss själva om man vågar påstå att de Japanska trenderna från tidigt 00-tal ändå har ebbat ut över bilar som innan var ”alldeles för fina” för det? Och då menar jag inte TF&F crap utan mer den cleana JDM-look de mer premium-orienterade tuners etablerade, tänk Feed, Mines och kanske AutoExe? Kanske greppar efter halmstrån, men gillade kombinationen guld/vit/carbon bara…)

(På denna bild finns det bara en sak att tänka på… stora bromsar är sexigt! Det är inga dåliga doningar som sitter på Ferrari F430 Scuderia med maximalt stora Brembo-ok och kolfiber/keramiska skivor & belägg. Vad det kostar att göra en ”enkel” bromsservice vill man dock inte veta!)

(En rätt kaxig samling bilar i kurvan, tycker ni inte? Kanske lite ”fel” ordning sett till vad de har för prestanda, även om den Maserati Quattroporte i mitten inte skäms för sig trots elegans och lyx så det skriker om det. Samma motor som prestandamodellen Gran Turismo S med sina 430HK.)

(Man får ett litet kaxigt leende när man ser fräcka bilar som denna Ferrari 599GTO ha våra action-kameror och mic på sig. David @ SUPERIOR MEDIA har knappt hunnit utvärdera den massiva mängd rå-material vi fixade under helgen, men med största säkerhet så kommer denna raritet vara något som ev. får en egen liten kortfilm. Tack till Inge @ IKC FONDER för tillåtelse att kladda på hans bil(ar!).)

(Moooar Maserati, detta det värsta du kan köpa med en tre-udd framtill: Gran Turismo MC med facelift. Jag har faktiskt denna front som en av de råaste men ändå vackraste som existerar just nu, och ljudet från 4.7 liters V8an när den öppnas upp med det speciella avgassystem man bl.a. får i ”MC-modellen” är unikt. Visst älskar man ylet från en Ferrari, men detta är lite… enklare och mer råbarkat. Godis för öronen, och den dagen i Prag 2009 när man fick höra en sådan live kommer man aldrig glömma. Sex för öronen!)

(Autoropa har även sitt egna Swedish GT stall som även det har IKC Fonder som huvudsponsor. Vi missade tyvärr det stora loppet som hölls här, men deras egna tävlingsbil fångades iaf. En Ferrari 458 som enligt våran vän Alx Danielsson som provkört är ett monster men kan behöva 1000x mer downforce för att kunna kontrolleras. De har redan nu vunnit ett par race, så kan bara gå än mer uppåt med andra ord?)

(En sista bild på ännu en 458 Italia samt en fråga till alla läsare på det: Är inte det den självklara modellen ”to buy” om man någonsin fick tillfälle att handla sig en egen Ferrari? Tycker den summerar det allra bästa från Enzo, till att vara en sportigare och tuffare evolution från F430- och slutligen kombinera klassiska drag från äldre syskon långt bak i tiden. Fulländelse helt enkelt!)

Det var allt från förra helgen just nu, kan dyka upp något strö-galleri till men detta var sett till träffarna i sig vad Martin Persson lyckades fånga. Sen att vi hann med en stor mängd fördjupningar och features kan ni ju som alltid räkna med när vi är i farten- bl.a. den Ferrari 599XX som kan tyckas saknas i detta galleri!

Galleri nummer ett för dagen är alla de JDM-bilar som deltog på JDM FACE-OFF 2011 (LÄS MER!) med lite extra fokus på Time Attack.

Martin Persson var väldigt flitig denna träff, och trots att vi oroade oss för att knappt hinna med något alls från banan mellan alla ”feature-shoots” han gjorde- så fick vi ändå till detta galleri.

Ni som undrade hur Time Attack gick kan läsa mer HÄR, inte lika fartfyllt som förra året; men ändock läsvärt. Här kommer bilderna:

(Någon som inte kom till start i Time Attack var Martin ”Gzon” Gustavsson med Superior Skylinen. Efter att ha bättrat på bromsar, chassie och med helt nya däck så var det stor förväntan inför körningen. De första varven var enligt Martin ”bästa bilen någonsin känts in/ut i kurvorna”, men ett +-0 experiment med methanol-insprutning och sämre och sämre ös i maskin… visade sig tillslut vara kolvringarnas allra grövsta varning för att de inte orkar mycket mer. Inte illa att kunna köra en racemaskin i flera säsonger fullt ös, och som det ser ut nu bara byta kolvringar och lite packningar = raceready tidigt nästa säsong…!)

(Gunmetal har aldrig sett läckrare ut enligt mig, måste varit den dagen då gud bestämde sig för att visa att denna underskattade färg hör till de absolut främsta på inte bara en Skyline- utan alles som kan anses sportigt. Vi ställde en liknande fråga om nya Nissan GT-R och gör det här också: vilken kulör är bäst på en Nissan Skyline R32?)

(Denna kille med sin Mitsubishi Evo X gjorde inget större väsen av sig denna träff med 1.36 tider, men hans namn/alias brukar annars inge mycket respekt inom ”Evo-träsket”. ”Wembo” har lagt ner kopiöst mycket resurser på olika generationer av Mitsubishis rally-åk genom åren, och detta är väl som jag förstått det hans ”daily driver”. Istället för att mobba honom för att ha lämnat ”värstingen” hemma så är ett prompt löfte om att den ska vara med nästa år helt OK för oss…)

(Perra @ 23GT-R har verkligen tagit steget till att bli en av de största profilerna i den förhållandevis lilla Time Attack-scenen som finns i Sverige. Hans P800-kit Nissan GT-R har sopat mattan med många bilar i rakt-fram körning, men även på bana är den riktigt vass. Med ett nytt chassie från Öhlins som inte ens fått en hjulinställning var det lite kämpigt för honom och tiderna kom inte riktigt till sin rätt- men trots det en av de mest ”snackade om” bilarna på plats och en viktig pusselbit i att engagera fler i att köra Time Attack i Sverige. We respect that…)

(Dagens kung på banan och undrar om inte den titeln sitter som gjuten överhuvudtaget när det gäller snabba svenska gatbilar. ”Puppan” har jobbat sig uppåt den hårda vägen, och med en lika ödmjuk attityd som när projektet påbörjades så har han blivit ett föredömme när det gäller Time Attack på den här gräsrots-nivån. Bilen är kapabel till så mycket mer än de 1.24.x tider den körde under dagen, men trots det så lekte han hem titeln för dagen; och förmodligen 2011 års utgåva av ”snabbast” också!)

(En bil som ofta hängt med på träffarna och förtjänar beröm över det är denna Acura (?) RSX. Insåg nyss att jag kanske är helt ute och cyklar, men hursomhelst så diggar vi på Superior-bloggen det tydliga ”Top Secret-stuket” och att bilen används som faktiskt är ruta ett på check-listan över en JDM-sportbil enligt oss!)

(Kommer det förvåna er om jag säger att en av de mest underskattade och bortglömda modellerna på svenska trackdays är Mazda RX-7? Vet att ni nu säger ”men asså, alla veeet ju att FD3S är en sjuuukt snabb bil- vad gaggar du om brorsan?”… Mitt svar på det är: Varför ser man dom inte oftare på banan då?! Lite beklämande faktiskt, för i Japan är det vanligare än en Volvo på Vallåkra just för att de med sin 50/50 viktfördelning, fina chassie från fabrik och med rätt tuning underbara motor (Wankel) åker riktigt snabbt. Kom igen nu RX-7 nördar och visa er oftare på banträffarna!)

(Ingen sådan post utan en liten omnämnan av Phantom Supra powered by MAJOR! Visst klarade den av att försvara sin titel som Sveriges snabbaste JDM-bil. Men den klarade inte alls att motsvara våra egna förväntningar, och kombinationen av lite körtid för ägaren och helt ny ”corner weight” = helt annan känsla i bilen, gav inte bättre resultat än 1.25,4 denna tröga dag.)

Vi har minst ett till galleri från JDM FACE-OFF 2011 på väg under kommande vecka i bloggen, så vi känner oss inte helt färdiga med denna träff ännu- men nu har ni lite mer att tugga på.
